Cheval News April
Hello
Lots happening in the riding club at the moment so this mail is just to give you a quick overview so you don’t miss out on anything…..
Well done to everyone involved in the recent Cheval dressage league organised by Ashling Moffit. It was a huge success with great feedback across the board. We will circulate the leaderboard separately.
AIRC Festival Entries
Online entries for the AIRC festival in Stradbally are now open http://www.airc.ie/festival2017/. Note your horse must be registered with the AIRC by Friday 28 April and Festival entries close on 4 May.
If you are interested in being on some of the festival showjumping teams, let us know and we can put you in touch with other members who have expressed an interest.
If you are entering the festival, do let a committee member know as we will have a social event at the festival.
Cheval Buddy system
Angela has set up a whatsapp group to facilitate making arrangements with other members who may be looking for someone to accompany them to either a show or a clinic or to school with someone in Cheval the grounds. If you would like to be included on the whatsapp group please text Angela. There is no requirement to be on the group so if you have been included and would prefer not to be, just let us know we can remove you from the group.
Grounds:
- Grass cutting – Martin has coordinated cuts for the year, thanks Martin.
- Our Sand Drainage has settled finally, we will review how it is and start saving for upgrading the surface as our next capital project in 2017/8.
Dressage team selection
Catriona Monks Walsh has been working on hard on arranging training sessions with Sarah Ennis for the dressage team selection. There is an opportunity to attend the selection night this Thursday evening 27 April with Sarah in Balcultry. You can ride the test of your choice, which Sarah will give you feedback on. You can pay online via the Cheval website.
Taylor Vard Clinic – Kilronan.
Well done to Rachael who has organised another very well received clinic for the NER which booked out very quickly.
AIRC club excellence award
Angela and Triona have been very busy behind the scenes, co-ordinating paperwork to submit on behalf of the club for the AIRC club excellence award. We will let members know the outcome once we are advised of same in September
Its a busy time in the region with lots of clinics/training and shows. I have attached number of flyers with all the details:
Cheval/Drynam/Copperfield Spring Show
Cheval Pre Festival Show
Dressage Training – Donie Mc Namara
WH Hunter/Showing clinic – Kevin Mc Guinness
NER draft minutes
Note from David Abbott – AIRC.
Please be advised that it has been decided to discontinue our member’s publication, Link-Up. It will be replaced with a new, more regular, eNewsletter and this will be distributed to AIRC members via email.
It follows the recent announcement by An Post, that the cost of posting a letter will rise to €1.00 from the middle of April.
Club members need to ensure that they have an up-to-date email address recorded on their airc membership online account in order to receive this new eNewsletter very soon.
Looking forward to seeing members out and about at all the upcoming shows and clinics!
Kind regards
Karen Kelly
